Bryson DeChambeau has confronted harsh backlash following his interplay with a volunteer during The Open Championship.

Despite his impressive finish at Portrush, DeChambeau acknowledged he needs to enhance his performance on Links courses and handling their distinctive challenges.

He said: “Look, it was honest situations the previous few days. I all the time informed you guys I prefer it when it is honest situations. I can play effectively.

“I still have to crack the code when it’s raining and windy but I feel like we’re getting close to some opportunities and solutions for that. It just takes a long time to develop stuff. I’m starting to learn. It was a fun three days. I was really proud of the way I turned it around.”
