Between invertebrate district attorneys and prosecutors, mushy-headed liberal judges, and flaccid parole boards, it is too common in our big, blue cities to see a ordinary prison turned again and again back onto the streets – even serial murderers. And now, it has occurred again; in one of our largest, bluest cities, Los Angeles, a convicted double assassin was cut unfastened, and now a mom of six is lifeless.

So, the law was written to give goblins like Darryl Collins a second probability. Well, tremendous; who will give Fatima Johnson a second probability? A second probability to see her children, to watch them start households of their own? Who will give Fatima a second probability to live her life, to grow outdated, to benefit from the simple pleasures of respiration? 

Certainly not the California legislators who cooked this thought up. Certainly not the parole board that put Darryl Collins back on the road. We can only hope that in sentencing, it is going to be determined that Darryl Collins will never again breathe free air, or do any of the issues he disadvantaged his victims of the prospect to do.
