Canada launched laws on Wednesday that may bar youngsters youthful than 16 from having social media accounts unless the businesses show they’ll make their platforms secure.

“We are failing our children. Enough is enough,” Marc Miller, Canada’s tradition minister, said. “We need basic protection in place.”
The laws covers seven varieties of dangerous content including content that induces youngsters to hurt themselves, content that incites violence and foments hatred and non-consensual intimate photographs.
A new regulator, the Digital Safety Commission of Canada, can be created.
Criteria for what exemptions would appear like can be announced at a later date. Miller said setting up the regulator may take up to 18 months.

Platforms in Canada that offer grownup content wouldn’t give you the option to receive an exemption.
