Caribbean drug strikes: 3 terrorists killed,

The U.S. struck another “narco-trafficking vessel” in the Caribbean on Saturday night, War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced in a social media post.

The latest assault marks the fifteenth strike carried out by the U.S. since assaults started on Sept. 2, focusing on alleged drug boats in the Pacific and Caribbean. 

Three people, which Hegseth described as “terrorists,” had been killed in the latest assaults. No U.S. forces had been harmed.

“This vessel—like EVERY OTHER—was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics. Three male narco-terrorists were aboard the vessel during the strike, which was conducted in international waters. All three terrorists were killed, and no U.S. forces were harmed in this strike,” the post continued.

“Countering the serious issue of illicit trafficking of drugs across international borders is – as has long been agreed among States – a law-enforcement matter, governed by the careful limits on lethal force set out in international human rights law,” Türk said.

President Trump has repeatedly said the assaults are essential to forestall the movement of medication into the U.S.

Venezuela’s attorney normal told the BBC that there may be “no doubt” that Trump is attempting to topple the Venezuelan authorities, accusing the U.S. of hoping to seize the nation’s natural assets, including reserves of oil, copper and gold.

Ravina Shamdasani, a spokeswoman for Türk’s workplace, told GWN that intentional use of deadly drive is allowed only as a last resort against somebody representing “an imminent threat to life,” she said.

“Otherwise, it would amount to a violation of the right of life and constitute extrajudicial killings,” she said, including that the strikes are happening “outside of context” of armed battle or armed hostilities.
