The ladies’s freeski halfpipe event got here to a screeching halt on Thursday during a scary scene in which two-time Olympic medalist Cassie Sharpe had to be taken off on a stretcher. 

The Canadian took an ugly fall as she was going down the halfpipe, making it nearly all the way in which down when she tumbled and slid to the middle before mendacity immobile on the ground for a second. 

According to the CBC, the group fell silent, and it took a number of minutes before medical personnel took her away on a stretcher.

The Canadian group said that Sharpe, 33, was transported to a Livigno clinic to endure additional examination. 

Freestyle Canada CEO Peter Judge told the CBC that Sharpe is in secure condition after she misplaced consciousness, but was awake and speaking. 

Sharpe fell in the second of her two qualifying runs, though she had recorded the third-best rating of the qualifying during her first run, which gave her a spot in Saturday’s remaining. 

Judge told the Canadian outlet that Sharpe is unlikely to participate in the ultimate out of an abundance of warning, but Freestyle Canada is still ready on updates from its medical employees.

Sharpe received Olympic gold in 2018 in Pyeongchang in the halfpipe event.

She took home silver during the 202 Winter Games in Beijing. 

She stepped away from competitions for two years after the Beijing Olympics when she turned a mother.
