CNN panel erupts in chaos after guests wild Trump | TV Shows
A CNN panel erupted into chaos during a recent episode of CNN NewsNight, as the network known for airing content that casts an unfavorable light on Donald Trump saw a guest make a shocking claim about his 2024 assassination attempt.
The comment came as the news networks all face challenges due to presumed bias in their coverage of major events.
This includes CNN, which viewers pointed out had wildly different coverage of the Epstein files when compared to Fox News.
Now, the network saw chaos ensue when the episode of NewsNight, which is hosted by Abby Phillips, saw a panel of guests argue over the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
The drama began after one of the panelists suggested it wasn’t a real assassination attempt.
While she scolded the panelists for not giving her a chance to respond because they were screaming at one another, the drama continued to escalate as both Jennings and Ben Ferguson slammed Toure’s comment.
“Supposedly. That’s where we’re at now,” Ferguson said. “Toure, he was shot in the ear.”
“He had blood on his face! Where did it come from? I went to the Republican National Convention–he had a bandage on his ear,” Jennings added.
“But did we hear from the doctors? Toure continued. “Wouldn’t we always hear from his doctors when he gets shot?”
At that point, Phillips regained control, steering the conversation back to the original topic at hand, with Trump’s recent diagnosis of a chronic vein condition, though she also firmly said Trump was shot, stating, “We saw the blood. We saw the bandage.”
The comments come just after the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt, after 20-year-old Michael Thomas Crooks opened fire at Trump during his campaign stop. Trump and two others were injured, while a rally attendee was killed.
Trump’s right ear was grazed by a bullet, and the wound was said to have been just shy of entering his head, and was marked by significant bleeding and swelling.
Conspiracy theories about the shooting ran en masse after the incident due to the condemned Secret Service response, as there were alleged lapses in planning and communication beforehand, as well as threat assessment.
Many also criticized the fact that agents were unable to stop the President from emerging from underneath them as they tried to cover him and get him off the stage.
He broke through them to pump his fist in the air and urge rally-goers to “fight” before he was hustled away, creating one of the most iconic images of his administration.
