Communist treatment for Airport Misery – RedState | Political News

Air journey is not one thing we do for enjoyable, unless one has a distinct masochistic streak. It’s tiring, it is annoying, the method on both ends is onerous. I did it for my residing for many years, as in my earlier profession, I did business on 4 continents, and a lot of that business required me to be bodily current. (My document flight time was Denver to Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany to Johannesburg, South Africa – 30 hours precise wheels-up flight time.) Nowadays, effectively, one of the very, very few issues now we have with residing in Alaska is that seeing our household means a airplane experience.

Here’s the factor: While air journey is tiring and annoying already, go away it to a “democratic socialist” – read that as “commies” – to strive to make it worse

Someone who will doubtless be a U.S. consultant for the occasion of John F. Kennedy for the town where the hellscape identified as John F. Kennedy International Airport is based desires you to know that she desires to make your expertise at JFK even worse than it’s now — because, socialism!

Meet Claire Valdez, the newly minted Democratic nominee for New York’s seventh Congressional District. She’s one of three Democratic socialists endorsed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani who managed to rating upsets in Tuesday’s major.

An upset it was certainly, and now we have yet to study just how upsetting this will end up being, but if the presumed Representative’s addle-brained schemes for the nation’s airports and airways are any indication, her agenda would be the stuff of nightmares.

…mentioning the mere act of attempting to board a flight in NYC’s major airports is presumably the most triggering factor you’ll be able to inform somebody who lives in the world, at least that doesn’t contain a relative or pet dying.

Therefore, it’s a bit curious that Valdez’s plan to improve air transport is … abolishing TSA PreCheck and nationalizing the airline industry. The only motive she received, I can surmise, is that too few people in the seventh Congressional District noticed the clip from a podcast named (sigh) “The B****uation Room” in May.

“My hot take is that we need to abolish PreCheck,” she said, referring to the TSA program that permits low-risk, pre-vetted vacationers to velocity through the security course of. This makes it simpler not only for them, but for everybody else in line.

Claire Valdez has managed to discover a entire new degree of silly where public coverage is worried.

In the first place, TSA PreCheck would not just help the people who pay for the service, but also to be pre-screened and pay a payment in return for being eased through the security course of. It helps everyone in that long line for those without PreCheck, by lowering the road by a third or more. But, in pure commie fashion, Claire Valdez desires to guarantee that the distress is evenly distributed.

And, as for nationalizing the airways, that could also be even dumber than abolishing PreCheck

The market capitalization of just the 2 greatest American-based carriers — Delta and United — is effectively over $100 billion, first off. And that’s just if the federal government buys these airways out, which might in all probability end up being more costly unless they have been seized at gunpoint. (This is unconstitutional, naturally, but I don’t assume Valdez has thought that — or any of this — through.)

And of course, market cap is hardly the only drawback with the federal government working an airline. There are the related prices, for one factor. Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic, is known for saying that “if you want to be a millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline.”

Oh, I do not assume Valdez would hesitate to take over the airways by pressure, have been it up to her.

In that earlier profession I discussed, one of my major jobs was with a New Jersey company, and it lasted nearly three years on-site. During that time, I shuttled back and forth recurrently between New Jersey and my home in Denver, where we lived at that time. I used to be reliably informed by people residing in the world that Newark was the best of the airports in the world, and while I did not see JFK or LaGuardia, I’ve to say Newark was a mess. It was the most busted airport I’ve ever been through, and I’ve been through a bunch of them. Half the elevators did not work. The TSA strains have been never more than half-staffed, and this was pre-COVID. The space around the airport was like a demilitarized zone. I’d like to assume it is improved since then, but I would not wager a plugged nickel on it.

And soon-to-be Representative Valdez would make all of that a lot, a lot worse – and prolong the distress, and the stupidity, to every airport and every airliner in the nation.

Lord, what fools these mortals be.
