Country music legend Hank Williams Jr has been compelled to cancel a quantity of upcoming shows over an emergency health scare.
The 76-year-old has been on tour across a number of states this summer season and was due to carry out two shows this month in Oklahoma, but said he has been compelled to rearrange these due to sickness.
On his official Instagram account, Williams and his staff wrote, “We’re so sorry to share that due to illness, Hank Williams Jr. will be unable to perform the shows scheduled for this weekend in Tulsa and Thackerville, OK. These dates will be rescheduled for later next month, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates.”
Both shows have been rescheduled for September, with Hank’s look at BOK Centre in Tulsa now happening on Friday, September 19. The show at Lucas Oil Live at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville is now set for Saturday, September 20.
The staff’s assertion continued, “We regret any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and support. We can’t wait to be back on stage with you soon.”
“Get well!! We have been super excited to see you Friday, but will gladly wait until next month,” another well-wisher said. “Your health is more important than our entertainment!”
The nature of Williams’ sickness has not been revealed but he expressed hope to return to performing soon. The musician is well-known for not often canceling shows and, in latest years, the only other cancellation has been for poor climate.
With 54 studio albums spanning more than six many years, Williams stays an important figurehead of nation music. Despite struggling health issues and tragic losses to contend with – dropping his daughter in a car crash in 2020 and his spouse in 2022, he continues to be musically lively.
