Helen Cornelius has died aged 83.
According to a post on her official fan web page, the nation music legend died on July 18. “Hi, Susan right here… I suppose I’ve to post as the web page in order for me to pin the post… fb is just not all the time person pleasant!” the post started.
It continued, “I’ve heard from Christy, and Helen did go yesterday (July 18) morning. I plan on maintaining this web page open as you all have posted such pretty images of yourselves with Helen.”
“If you’d like to post a favorite photo or memory, please feel free!” it addec.
Susan then shared her own fond reminiscence of the singer, including, “I think one of my favorite memories was eating Dominos & watching Tennessee football in her living room! The Vols lost, but that was ok… we still had fun!”
“Oh wait… another one, I was out front setting up the merch table & my dog Harry Potter was hanging out in the dressing room. Jim Ed left the door open & HP wandered out on stage… thankfully it was during rehearsal & not during the show! Oh, so many wonderful memories!!” the message concluded.
Fans had been fast to flood the post with their own properly needs. One person penned, “So sorry to hear this. I saw her (with Jim Ed) many times. Always one of my favorite acts! Here is a pic of me with them at Opryland in 1978.”
Another shared their favourite reminiscence of Helen, commenting, “Her stories on Nashville Now were my funniest moments. Especially her story about the wardrobe malfunction! My mama and her share the same nickname… “Little Bit”. She might have been little, but she sure had a big heart and gave us all big beautiful memories!”
A 3rd added, “So very sad for her family. Loved Helen and her angelic voice and cherished her friendship. Beautiful through and through and had the sweetest heart! I first met Helen in the early 1970’s when we were label mates on Columbia Records.
“I used to be just a younger teen and she was all the time so very form to me. Precious reminiscences from Fan Fairs and DJ Convention exhibits collectively. We wrote letters back and forth approach back then. Many years in the past, I mailed a box of Helen’s letters back to her so she would have them “as a journal of sorts” from her early years in the music business. Prayers for God’s cocooning of consolation, energy, grace, and enabling for Helen’s household as they endure and persevere amidst lacking her.”
