Adam Henson, the cherished Countryfile presenter, has introduced “it’s the end of an era” as he contemplates his departure from the household farm in the Cotswolds once their tenancy concludes.

The celebrated TV character and farmer, who resides at the 650-hectare Cotswolds Farm Park with his partner Charlie, revealed their plans to relocate to a neighbouring bungalow. The choice comes as their offspring have determined not to pursue agricultural professions as their father did.

Off-camera, Adam dedicates himself to working his heritage-rich household farm, which his father, Joe, pioneered in 1971.

During a candid chat with the Daily Express, he recalled: “My dad was ahead of his time by opening a farm for people to come and visit, bottle-feed a lamb or hold a chick.”

Adam acknowledged that his own kids have diverged from the farming route, reviews Gloucestershire Live.

He stated, “Sure, they can lamb a sheep and drive a tractor, but my daughter lives in Perth as an events organiser and my son is a financial advisor in Leeds.”

“So when the tenancy runs out in 12 years’ time, Charlie and I are moving to a bungalow close by in Winchcombe, where we have a few acres and will keep a few sheep and the dogs.”

Admitting it signifies the conclusion of a vital chapter, he stays constructive, anticipating continued pleasure in the sweetness of the encircling countryside.

During an emotional dialogue with Reach PLC, Adam revealed the struggles he has endured in both his skilled and personal life. He bared his soul about the heartbreaking diagnosis of his spouse’s cancer, the loss of his mother and father, and the death of his nephew.

The down-to-earth farmer confided, “My characteristics are that I am an upbeat person, and I have got an incredibly supportive family, wife, and children, and people around me.

“And within the business, I’ve bought a business companion who I used to be at Agricultural College with and he’s one of my closest buddies and what we do is encompass ourselves with people that are glorious within their own position in the business. Whether that is a supervisor or a farm supervisor, and we work actually carefully with the crew and we’re all very sincere and open with each other.”

He went on to say, “I’ve had some very tough occasions in my life, both in business and personally. My spouse was very sick a few years in the past, my mother and father dying, and I misplaced a nephew.”

Despite the myriad challenges, including foot and mouth outbreaks, Covid, and different robust occasions, Adam remained resilient: “I’ve never had poor mental health because I’ve had that implausible assist system around me.”
