Supporters of President Donald Trump had been out in vocal assist of the Iran struggle on Thursday as the Conservative Political Action Conference entered its second day.
As they browsed varied kinds of MAGA merchandise lining the conference middle of the Gaylord Texas resort in Dallas, Fred and Carol Kurpiel praised the president’s continued bombardment of Iran.
“I’m for it,” Carol said.
Fred added that he and his spouse are totally behind the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes that prompted the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“Supposedly, there’s several presidents who wanted to do this, but this is the only one who actually carried it out,” Fred, a retired Atlanta native, said.

Carol and her husband also vehemently disagreed that U.S. involvement in Iran flouts the president’s “America First” coverage, with Carol arguing that “this is America First.”
“You’ve got various objectives when you’re going through the office. I mean, we elected him to carry out all of these policies, and this is the foreign affairs part,” Fred chimed in, but added, “I have to think on it.”
“The other one’s the domestic part,” he added. “Hopefully, we can accomplish all of it, and these cases we can.”
Both Fred and Carol appeared to approve of the president’s thought of probably instituting a draft if needed. “I’ve seen it happen. We’re victims of the Vietnamese war, right? So yeah, I see it happening,” Carol commented.
“I think in some way. I mean, I didn’t go into the war, but I’m probably the first one that hadn’t in our family,” Fred explained. “And I think everybody should have some sort of service to the country.”

“And the draft of some sort, either military or community service, I think, should be implemented right now,” he added.
That said, Carol, 79, who said she’s a “product of World War II,” added that she did not need to see another worldwide battle erupt in her lifetime.
“I used to be born in England, and I’ve listened to nothing but my mom speaking about the struggle,” she said. “I’m a product of World War II. And I don’t want to see anything like that here.
But she said she believes the Iran war won’t escalate to that level because “it may be simply gained.”
Fred echoed the sentiment, though with a bit of skepticism, claiming the Iran war is a continuing conflict that needs to end.
“Well, it is a persevering with battle, and I feel we have the best insurance policies, and hopefully they can carry it through to the end,” he said.
