On Monday, Paramount and the UFC announced a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal to be the exclusive supplier of UFC content in the U.S. UFC CEO Dana White explained how the partnership got here together and what it entails.
“Our deal is expiring (with ESPN), so get out there and started shopping around. This is where we ended up, and I love it,” White said on CBS Sports. “I love where this is headed. I love the idea of being on Paramount+.
“When you assume of these streaming providers, live sports activities is so important because you will have to tune in and watch it as it occurs. And if you look at the strikes they’re making proper now, and the content that they’ve. They just locked up South Park. They have Yellowstone, Mob Land which is a big hit, Tulsa King, and the record goes on and on. So, not only if you are a UFC fan, you get away from the pay-per-view model and you just pay $12 or $13 a month, whatever it’s, and you get all this other programing plus all the UFC content.”

With the new deal, the fight promotion will exclusively air 13 “Marquee Numbered occasions” and 30 Fight Nights. Select events will simulcast on CBS with all events included with Paramount+ subscription. It’s a deal that White sees as getting the promotion closer to his overall vision of the sports’ future.
“This is all the issues I used to dream about. My big factor was, I believed that in the future we might be on a platform where all the world might watch the struggle at the same time and on the same channel. We’re undoubtedly getting nearer to my imaginative and prescient with that,” White said.
“This is a great deal for us. Not only us, but our athletes and our followers.”
