Dean Cain hits back after John Oliver mocked his | TV Shows

Dean Cain was pressured to witness himself being ridiculed on national tv by Last Week Tonight host John Oliver.

During a phase on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the previous Superman actor endured a scathing portion where Oliver mocked his latest affiliation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), questioning his profession trajectory in the method.

Piers Morgan pulled no punches, broadcasting a number of clips of Oliver’s assault on Cain. In the Last Week Tonight phase, Oliver quipped, “On the plus side, no need for that guy to wear a mask because the chances of anyone recognizing him are f—— zero!” Oliver pressed on, focusing on Cain’s Hollywood observe document, “You know, there’s an previous saying in Hollywood. If all you will get is Dean Cain, you might be f—–!”.

He added, “I’m not saying that ICE isn’t finding people, I’m just saying when you are reduced to pinning a badge on the 59-year-old star of The Dog Who Saved Christmas, The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation, The Dog Who Saved the Holidays, The Dog Who Saved Halloween, The Dog Who Saved Easter, and The Dog Who Saved Summer, maybe you are in trouble.”

Nevertheless, Cain was swift to push back. He said as a response to Oliver, “Go ahead and denigrate my career, which is weird, it’s an odd thing to do, but what I’m doing is I’m standing up for the men and women of ICE.”

He added, “I’m a sworn deputy sheriff, I’m a reserve police officer, I have been for almost a decade now, and our ICE agents are being vilified, they’re being attacked, they’re being doxed, and they’re out there trying to do their job.

“They’re doing the job that the American people employed them for, that Congress wrote the legal guidelines for, they’re doing it very, very effectively.”

This follows the Lois and Clark star’s recent disclosure through a video on X and a Fox News segment that he has enlisted with ICE as an “honorary” agent.

“For those who do not know, I’m a sworn law enforcement officer, as effectively as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to be part of with our first responders to help secure the protection of all Americans, not just speak about it,” the performer stated at the time, continuing, “So, I joined up.”

He also seized the opportunity to highlight what he characterized as the “great advantages” of enlisting with ICE, mirroring recent accounts that the organization is providing incentives such as a $50,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment, enhanced retirement benefits and additional pay for those working in field operations and law enforcement roles.

“So, if you need to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and eradicating them from America’s streets. I like that. I voted for that,” Cain said. “They need your help. We need your help, to shield our homeland and our households.”
