Before his position as Officer Dwayne Myers, the 65-year-old has had a stellar profession and has starred in the likes of the youngsters’s sequence Maid Marian and Her Merry Men and M.I. High. However, fans have been left shocked after not too long ago realising the actor has starred in another notorious TV sequence, Red Dwarf. Danny performed the position of the flamboyant and useless Cat in the sci-fi comedy sequence, which also starred the likes of Craig Charles, Chris Barrie and Robert Llewellyn.
The comedy sci-fi sequence, which started on the BBC back in 1988, follows the adventures of the last human alive and his associates as they’re stranded three million years into deep space on the mining ship Red Dwarf.
Realising the Death in Paradise star was in the favored sequence, which ended its authentic run in 1999, one fan on Reddit shared a side-by-side of the actor in both roles.
They wrote: “This took me way too long, just now realised this is the same actor. Watching a Red Dwarf documentary and seeing Danny John-Jules and realising ‘that’s Dwayne!” There are so many years between the 2 roles that I never connected them.”
It wasn’t long before people commented on the thread, with many in disbelief. One particular person shared: “My god, you’re right… never occurred to me. Just too focused on the characters, I guess!”
