Death in Paradise stars latest crime show future | UK News

Josephine Jobert’s well-liked crime sequence Saint-Pierre has formally been renewed for a third season, and filming is only weeks away.

The former Death in Paradise star performs the function of Deputy Chief Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault in the show, who lives in the titular Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. She stars reverse actor Allan Hawco, identified for his function in the Amazon Prime sequence Jack Ryan, as Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick.

The plot follows the pair, who are in Saint-Pierre for their own separate causes, and while it’d seem like an idyllic getaway, Arch and Fitz soon uncover there’s a darker aspect to the French territory off the coast of Canada, and it is rife with prison exercise for them to put a stop to.

First launching in 2025, the comfy consolation sequence shortly grew to become a fan favorite on the Canadian community CBC and was renewed for a second season. In April, the first sequence launched in the UK on U&Alibi.

On Tuesday (May 27), Deadline announced the show’s third-season renewal, and filming is set to begin in July in Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from CBC, our incredible partners at Fifth Season, and the worldwide fans who have embraced the show from the very beginning”, Hawco and co-creator Robina Lord-Stafford told the publication.

“Returning to Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre et Miquelon for Season 3 is especially exciting, as these locations are such an important part of the show’s identity.

“We’re trying ahead to building on the momentum of the first two seasons and bringing audiences even more of the thriller, surprising twists, and character dynamics that make this world so particular.”

The series has already been dubbed by viewers on IMDb as a “must-watch” show, with the episode titled ‘eliminate Lil’ highly praised as one that “hits all the proper notes”. One fan also confirmed they are “Obsessed” with the series, while another added: “We love this show so a lot!”

While leading star Joséphine Jobert initially starred in Death in Paradise as Detective Sergeant Florence Cassell between 2015 and 2019, before returning to the BBC show for seasons 10 and 11 between 2021 and 2022.

The actress returned in 2024 for season 13, with her character Florence last seen crusing off into the sundown with Neville, performed by Ralf Little, who also departed the sequence.
