But an outdated concept could also be popping out of the mothballs.

The latest in the “what can we throw up against the wall to see if it sticks” saga was kicked around at the summer season assembly. The concept: to maintain a national Democrat mini-convention before the 2026 midterm elections. The objective, of course, could be to fundraise, but also put the get together on a national stage for Democrats working in essential House and Senate races. Such a conference would garner most media consideration as Democrats attempt to win majorities in the House and Senate and current arguments against President Donald Trump and the Republicans’ agenda.

While the concept is in the early levels, and nothing is particular, DNC Chair Ken Martin has been purchasing it to get together leaders. As 2026 looms, Martin is in the sizzling seat.
