Derek Hough teases ’actually good solid’ for DWTS | TV Shows

Dancing With the Stars followers are in for a deal with when Season 35 premieres in the autumn, as head choose Derek Hough is teasing that the show is shaping up to have an spectacular solid aiming to win the Mirrorball trophy.

The ABC show is set to deliver its latest crop of celebrities to the small screen for the dance competitors sequence in September, and will also characteristic a new professional who joins the solid after profitable Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro.

And while 4 solid members have been announced – including one who was given a hilarious warning when their participation was concerned – the previous professional turned head choose is teasing that more big names could possibly be coming.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming season and the show’s landmark thirty fourth season last 12 months, which reached viewing numbers not seen in years, Hough shared a small glimpse of what followers might count on when the new episodes start to air.

While admitting he couldn’t give particulars or say whether or not the show may have another celebration for its thirty fifth season in the upcoming run, he did share that he was “excited” about how plans are shaping up.

“We have a really good cast,” he told the publication. “There are some people that I know are waiting in the wings. I’ve been told some of the people that are going to be on the next season. It’s going to be a great one.”

“We’re having this momentum from the past two seasons. The celebrities are so excited to be on the show, to dance, to compete, to actually get the full expertise, and that dynamic of a celeb who is wanting [to win] and actually embracing it, that’s what creates great seasons,” he added.

Hough’s comments come after the show confirmed its first four celebrities, with the rest likely to be confirmed on Good Morning America on September 2.

The first four celebrities confirmed are Traitors alum and Love Island U.K. star Maura Higgins, Traitors alum and Summer House star Ciara Miller, Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson, and Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez.

The four have a unique advantage going into the competition, as those who are announced prior to the season’s start often wind up having the best shots at the Mirrorball trophy, with most either making it to the finals or semifinals, as fans have longer to build up excitement over their casting.

Since Season 25, four celebrities who were announced ahead of the season have gone on to win the Mirrorball trophy. Adam Rippon, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Charli D’Amelio and Robert Irwin all emerged victorious during their seasons.

Milo Manheim, Jojo Siwa, and Alix Earle all paced second in their respective seasons, while Tonya Harding and Ariana Madix took third during their runs. Fourth-place finalists in their seasons included Drew Scott, Charity Lawson and Stephen Nedoroscik.

As for the semifinalists. Joe Amabile, Suni Lee, and Whitney Leavitt all found themselves eliminated during the last episode before their season’s finales.

Dancing With the Stars Season 35 will air starting in September on ABC and Disney+.
