Donald Trump says Cuba is ready to fall after | Political News


President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that Cuba was “ready to fall” after US forces captured the president of its ally nation Venezuela.

Trump told reporters on Air Force One that “Cuba is ready to fall” and that it might be troublesome for Havana to “hold out” without acquiring closely sponsored Venezuelan oil. “I don’t think we need any action. It looks like it’s going down.”

Despite mounting criticism for the blatant kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro, which Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and Spain denounced as a “dangerous precedent for peace and regional security,” Trump continued to taunt other South American international locations.

Trump told reporters that the administration in Bogota was led by “a sick man who likes making cocaine and selling it to the United States” and that both Venezuela and Colombia had been “very sick.”

Maduro disputes the accusations, while critics assert that the elimination of the Venezuelan chief was meant to seize control of the nation’s huge oil riches.

In an interview with reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump maintained that the US was “in charge” of Venezuela despite Vice President Delcy Rodriguez being named interim chief by the nation’s Supreme Court.

Additionally, he reiterated that if Venezuela “doesn’t behave,” the US army can be despatched back.

He went on to say that many Cubans had been killed in the US raid and that the island appeared ready to collapse on its own, negating the need for US army involvement.

“Cuba is ready to fall. Cuba looks like it’s ready to fall,” he said. “Cuba now has no income. They got all of their income from Venezuela, from the Venezuelan oil. They’re not getting any of it. Cuba literally is ready to fall.”
