Tesla CEO and former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk has reportedly been snubbed from a big tech dinner at the White House’s brand-new Rose Garden on Thursday.
It was reported that President Trump will host over two dozen high-profile figures at the White House, including Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and OpenAI founder Sam Altman. The dinner follows a separate event hosted by First Lady Melania Trump on Artificial Intelligence.
“The Rose Garden Club at the White House is the hottest place to be in Washington, or perhaps the world,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement to The Hill. “The president looks forward to welcoming top business, political, and tech leaders for this dinner and the many dinners to come on the new, beautiful Rose Garden patio.”
President Trump’s party in the brand new Rose Garden comes after several years of renovation that began during his first term in office. The party will also be the first time that the stone patio will be the main focus instead of the lawn.
It should be noted that the Rose Garden is usually used to host events, bill signings and speeches. The full list of people slated to attend the gathering is listed below.

It was reported that Musk was notably left off the list of invitees. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reportedly teased the event last month saying that the garden was ready for an event and even gave the press pool a glimpse of the president testing out new speakers for “what will be the best event in the history of the White House.”
Leavitt also added that the next party is “hopefully soon.” Musk being left off the invite list underscores the probably still tumoltuous releationship between the president and the previous DOGE head. The pair grew to become embroiled in a feud relating to the president’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.”
