Three younger Iranian men had been publicly hanged Thursday morning in Qom after being convicted of “waging war against God,” according to the Iranian judiciary’s Mizan News Agency.
The three men—Saleh Mohammadi, 19, Saeed Davoudi, 21, and Mehdi Ghasemi—had been all arrested during the anti-government protests in Iran in January before the U.S. and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury on Feb. 28, wiping out key figures of the Iranian regime, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, 86, and senior security official Ali Larijani, 67, among others. The Center for Human Rights in Iran (CHRI) described the tragic executions as the outcome of “grossly unfair trials without any semblance of due process” that led to “forced ‘confessions’ obtained under torture.”
