Enes Kanter vows to end WNBA trans women protest…
Enes Kanter Freedom says ending his marketing campaign against the WNBA would require only a one-word change.
Kanter said that he would abandon his tried entry into the 2027 WNBA Draft if the league explicitly restricted eligibility to “biological” females.
“If they come out tomorrow and say only biological females are eligible to play, I’d drop everything,” Kanter said. “Until then, I am eligible to play.”

Article XIII, Section 1(a) of the WNBA’s collective bargaining settlement says only gamers who are women are eligible but doesn’t publicly outline the time period additional. Kanter has seized upon that absence, declared himself eligible and challenged the league to inform him in any other case.
Multiple league sources have said Kanter and former NBA participant Royce White should not eligible. Kanter dismissed those experiences as “fake news,” arguing that neither the league nor its commissioner has contacted him straight.
The dispute escalated during the current Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever sport. Kanter sat along the baseline carrying a shirt defining a girl as an “adult human female” before an exchange with Sky guard Natasha Cloud led security to take away him.
The Sky subsequently banned Kanter from Wintrust Arena. Owner Michael Alter said his look appeared designed to provoke a response, while Kanter maintained that he had achieved nothing warranting removing.
Kanter nonetheless says he’ll continue making ready for the draft and has supplied to meet league officers. His acknowledged demand stays simple: Put organic intercourse expressly into the eligibility rule and he says the marketing campaign ends immediately.

Whether this is honest activism or an elaborate and determined bid for relevance is tougher to decide. Kanter presents his declaration as an attempt to shield women’s sports activities, but every new problem, interview and courtside confrontation also returns the national highlight to a retired heart with no real looking basketball future.
The two motives should not essentially mutually exclusive. A publicity stunt can still make a political level, and Kanter has designed one that retains him at the middle of the controversy regardless of how the WNBA responds.
The WNBA’s reported place is already that Kanter can not play. Until it states that place publicly in the language he’s demanding, however, he says the marketing campaign will continue.
Kanter insists his exit is only one phrase away. Whether he actually desires that phrase—or is exploiting a deeply controversial issue to keep himself in the highlight—stays the real query.
