A former neighbor of Jeffrey Epstein has detailed what it was like to live beside him – and says she’d see younger girls with “school clothes and pigtails” getting into his home most days.
Sarah Morgan, 40, lived a few doorways down from Epstein until his death in August 2019. She said they’d see younger girls with “school clothes and pigtails” getting into his Upper East Side property most days. The former neighbor said they even managed to snap a picture of Epstein inviting a younger woman into his home.
Sarah also said diplomatic automobiles with “high security” could be parked outdoors his home always. After he dedicated suicide in 2019, Sarah said somebody wrote on her car “Epstein didn’t kill himself.” Sarah, a historian, from Upper East Side, New York City, said: “I would constantly see ridiculously young girls walking into his house.
“They could be sporting school garments and pigtails – I assumed it was so weird.
“There was a constant stream of young girls going in there.”
Sarah moved onto East 71st Street with her husband in 2012, dwelling a few doorways down from the Herbert N. Straus House owned by Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein moved into the home in 1995 and lived there until his second arrest in 2019. As a historian, Sarah said she was “fascinated” by Straus House and initially did not know a lot about its proprietor.
She said: “We were a few doors away from each other.
“I initially was very obsessed with the handle. I’m a historian, and I used to be in the Straus House where he lived.
“When we first moved onto the road, I joked to my husband that I would go round asking for a cup of sugar just to look on the inside.”
Sarah said East 71st Street was “picturesque” with its “old money charm” and historical past. But, she soon seen that Straus House was getting an inflow of underage girls visiting – which she discovered “bizarre.”
Sarah said: “I was studying when we first moved. I would sit outside sometimes, and I would constantly see ridiculously young girls walking into the house.

“Some of the girls could be sporting school garments with pigtails – I assumed it was so weird. Most days, I’d see younger girls getting into his property. One day, I used to be sitting there, I saw a woman stroll in and saw him open the door, so I snapped a picture.”
Sarah said it was a “quiet avenue” where everyone would keep themselves to themselves.
She said she never saw Epstein on the street, but would constantly see a flow of people gaining access to his home.
Sarah said that when it came to local or national elections, she would see a bank of diplomatic cars with high security visiting the house. She suspected they were politicians vying for a donation for their campaign.
Sarah said: “There had been always diplomatic automobiles and high security when sure guests had been there.
“Any time there was an election coming up, there would always be people stopping by his house. Political people, whether that be a local or national election. People were probably asking him to donate to their campaign. It was always election time when I saw those cars.”
On July 6, 2019, Epstein was arrested by federal brokers in New Jersey. A few months later on August 10, 2019, Epstein was discovered lifeless in his prison cell while awaiting trial. After his death, Sarah said the road turned into a “circus” with somebody writing on her car “Epstein didn’t kill himself.”
She said: “The street turned into a circus after his death.
“It was stuffed with brokers eradicating gadgets from his property, news crews and people snapping up pictures of the home.
“People would pose up by his front door and take selfies, which I thought was weird.”
Sarah, her husband, and two youngsters moved from East 71st Street in 2022 and relocated to a larger home.
She said that she was “relieved” that she received pregnant with her youngsters after Epstein had been arrested.
Sarah said: “My daughter was born in February 2020, oh my gosh, I thought we were so lucky as I read some horrifying stuff about Epstein and girls way under 18.
“There weren’t a lot of youngsters around there, it made me so grateful that he is not around to have his eyes on my youngsters.”
