Eric Dane dropped out of an ALS event last minute as he continues to battle the devastating disease.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” alum, 53, missed his scheduled look at the ALS Network’s Champions for remedies and Care Gala on Saturday. Dane, who publicly shared his ALS diagnosis in April 2025, was set to obtain the Advocate of the Year Award.
“The ALS Network has been informed that Eric Dane had hoped to join us this evening to accept his Advocate of the Year Award, but due to the physical realities of ALS, he is not well enough to attend,” a spokesperson for the group told The Hollywood Reporter.

The assertion continued, “We remain deeply grateful for his courage, advocacy and continued commitment to the ALS community, and we honor him fully this evening with our profound respect and support.”
The ALS Network added that Broadway actor Aaron Lazar, who also has ALS, would settle for the award on Dane’s behalf.
The Post has reached out to Dane’s rep and the ALS Network for remark.
The ALS Network announced in September that Dane was receiving the Advocate of the Year Award, crediting the “Euphoria” actor with bringing “international attention to ALS” through his “leadership and compassion.”

“This award is more than an honor — it’s a reflection of the incredible strength and courage I see in the ALS community every day,” Dane said in a assertion at the time.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a nervous system disease that deteriorates over time and impacts nerve cells in the mind and spinal twine, main to loss of muscle control.
Dane, who now makes use of a wheelchair and has only one functioning arm, has made it his mission to speak about his ALS diagnosis to help others.

“I think it’s imperative that I share my journey with as many people as I can because I don’t feel like my life is about me anymore,” he said during a digital panel with I AM ALS last month.
“And it’s something I’ve had to wrestle with because I’m a pretty selfish person, and I’d love for my life to be all about me, but I just can’t — I don’t think I’d be able to move forward if that were the case,” Dane added.

The “Charmed” actor also famous that while his household, which incorporates estranged spouse Rebecca Gayheart and their two daughters, is his “priority,” discussing his ALS his also “such a big deal” to him.
