Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson has been pressured to postpone his upcoming show due to a “sudden and serious family illness”, he has confirmed on social media. The Countryfile star, 56, shared the devastating news with followers on Instagram as he confirmed that his scheduled look this Friday (June 19) is not going to go forward.
In a video filmed by the water in Suffolk, he explained: “Well folks, Jules here in Suffolk on the banks of the River Deben with the very sad news that unfortunately, due to a sudden and unexpected family illness, I’ve had to postpone our little get together that we’d planned for this Friday night at the Blake Theatre in Monmouth.
“The good news is that we’ve found a new date, we’ve postponed it to Saturday 12th of September. I do hope you can still join me then, but I’m sure you will appreciate there are times when family has to come first, and this is one of those moments. So thank you for your understanding, and I will look forward to – I hope – seeing you at the Blake Theatre on the 12th of September, later this year.”
In the accompanying caption, Jules confirmed that the sickness was “sudden and serious”, explaining that refunds can be granted for anybody unable to make the new date.
He added: “It’s hugely disappointing to have to change plans, but I hope you’ll understand on this occasion, and hopefully we can all get together in a few short months. With thanks, and apologies once again.”
Fans rushed to assist him, with one telling Jules: “Family comes first, sending them a speedy recovery.”
Another echoed: “Ah. Of course family first. No question. Prayers to all. This is the reason we fans are fans. I’m glad to know that you can reschedule. Again, prayers for good health for all.”
