Even the NY Media Demolishes Hakeem Jeffries When | Political News

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) doesn’t do a great media job talking for the Democrats, and he proved that again on Monday during an look on Good Day New York.

Jeffries tried to buffalo the anchors and the viewers by criticizing President Donald Trump over “skyrocketing gas prices.”

“It was a reckless war of choice that has obviously cost the American people significantly, particularly as it relates to skyrocketing gas prices in an environment where the cost of living was already too high,” Jeffries said.

This declare from Jeffries has two issues. First, oil costs have already been coming down because of the peace negotiations with Iran. Second, now that a deal is being signed, the costs are probably to drop even more, as transport returns to regular.

On top of that, local anchor Rosanna Scotto smacked Jeffries with some more big info, dropping a little historical past on him.

Scotto leveled him, saying there have been high fuel costs under both Barack Obama and Joe Biden, “Gas prices were up under Obama, too. And Biden, right?”

When Jeffries stammered in response, Scotto pressed him about how high the fuel costs had been under Biden, “Didn’t we have gas prices over $5.00?”

“Well, there were gas prices in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic situation…” Jeffries said, making an attempt to justify it.

That, of course, wasn’t true. It wasn’t the “immediate aftermath,” it was 2022. Then, Biden and the Democrats tried to escape duty and blamed Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and not Biden’s anti-energy insurance policies. The national average in June 2022 went over $5.00.

Scotto also helpfully reminded Jeffries how high eggs had been under Biden, joking they had been “like $12 a dozen.” Now, under Trump, through direct motion to cut back egg costs, they’re far decrease. They had been $4.82 a dozen on average in Jan. 2023 under Biden. They had been $2.19 on average for a dozen in May 2026.

Does Jeffries assume we all have 15-second reminiscences and cannot bear in mind how unhealthy issues had been? Democrats have been so coddled by the media that they don’t seem to be ready to reply when they’re requested real, persistent questions. But it is fairly embarrassing for Democrats that this man, their “speaker,” has such problem with the media.

Jeffries also ought to stop sporting hats if he cannot get one to match him that would not make him look goofy.
