Bruce Springsteen’s 2025 Land of Hope & Dreams tour has doubled as a platform for political commentary aimed at Donald Trump, which has seen the president fire back.
Addressing the group in Manchester, England, on May 14, the rocker said: “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration.”
He added: “Tonight we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring.”

“There’s some very weird, strange and dangerous shit going on out there,” he said. “In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent…They’re rolling back historic civil rights legislation. On June 11 in Berlin, Springsteen repeated the message in German, referring to Trump’s leadership as “corrupt, incompetent, and deceitful,” and dedicated the song Rainmaker to those resisting political oppression.
