Everything Bruce Springsteen has said about Trump on | Music News

Bruce Springsteen’s 2025 Land of Hope & Dreams tour has doubled as a platform for political commentary aimed at Donald Trump, which has seen the president fire back.

Addressing the group in Manchester, England, on May 14, the rocker said: “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration.”

He added: “Tonight we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring.”

Later that identical night time, forward of performing his hit music My City of Ruins, Springsteen continued his commentary.

“There’s some very weird, strange and dangerous shit going on out there,” he said. “In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent…They’re rolling back historic civil rights legislation. They’re abandoning our great allies and siding with dictators.”

The message carried through to the tour’s European stops. In San Sebastian, Spain, Springsteen didn’t maintain back, slamming Trump’s administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and traitorous,” in Spanish

In interviews promoting the tour, he also described Trump as “a moron” and labeled the nation’s political climate “a tragedy,” blaming Trump’s reputation on “deindustrialization and economic inequality.”

Unsurprisingly, Trump hit back exhausting. Within hours of the Manchester live performance, he took to Truth Social, writing: “I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about President of the United States.”

“Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a push, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country.”

“If I wasn’t elected, it would have been GONE by now!” he continued. “Sleepy Joe didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing, but Springsteen is ‘dumb as a rock,’ and couldn’t see what was going on, or could he (which is even worse!)? This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’ Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!”

On May 19, Trump escalated the feud, grouping Springsteen into a conspiracy concept alongside Oprah, Beyonce, and others, suggesting they have been being paid to help Kamala Harris and demanding an investigation.

Despite the backlash, Springsteen hasn’t backed down as he continues his world tour amid political unrest in the U.S.
