‘Excellent’ Netflix thriller with Bridgerton icon | UK News

A Bridgerton star’s latest thriller has claimed the top place on the Netflix UK chart. The “intense” catastrophe movie, which debuted on Netflix yesterday, is helmed by Tommy Wirkola and has left quite a few viewers “hooked”.

Numerous Bridgerton lovers will recognise Daphne Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor, who headlines the solid as Lisa alongside performers including Djimon Hounsou, Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen and Dante Ubaldi.

Admirers have been commending her “incredible” efficiency skills, with others confessing the “suspenseful” shark movie had left them gripped throughout.

The official synopsis for the new Netflix manufacturing states: “When a catastrophic hurricane slams a coastal town, stranded residents must survive rapidly rising waters swarming with ravenous sharks.”

The movie, entitled Thrash, has launched to divided reviews from critics and audiences alike, with merely a 40% ranking on Rotten Tomatoes, studies The Mirror.

While some underwhelmed viewers had been left “speechless” by what Thrash delivered, others “loved” the manufacturing.

One Rotten Tomatoes consumer recommended: “Suspenseful film, had me on edge in parts, I can never usually keep my attention on a film but this one had me hooked all the way through. Would definitely watch again. Must watch film!!

“Suspenseful. Main characters price rooting for,” a second noted, as a third concurred: “Surprisingly tense and nicely acted!” On X, formerly Twitter, one enthusiastic viewer commented on the trailer: “Great. PHOEBE is unimaginable…” while another added: “Isn’t this full of thrill and suspense.”

Not everybody was impressed, however, as one critic wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: “Just not a good film or thriller, could not even end it. Was not very plausible or fascinating – very cliche. Was excited for a shark catastrophe film but this will not be it.

“I switched it off 20 minutes in, boring and predictable,” another complained, as one more wrote: “Wow, speechless…please give me back my 83 minutes.”

Other viewers had been baffled by the movie’s low rating, with one stating: “I don’t understand why the rating is show row, there were a lot of tense scenes you feel scared a lot of the time and the acting is well, overall a pretty good and entertaining movie.”

Another concurred: “Not sure why all the harsh reviews . I really enjoyed the movie. Even though it was far fetched it was nerve racking for me for sure. I found it intense and suspenseful and thought it was better than any b movie I’ve seen ! Love a good edge of your seat thriller. Wish it was a tad longer though.”

A 3rd chimed in: “Loved this movie, had us on the edge of seat wish it would have been a bit longer.”

One additional viewer famous: “While it has some flaws and some things out there, it’s a very enjoyable and thrilling film. With some really good shark scenes and visual effects. Definitely a B-movie.”

Thrash is out there to stream now on Netflix.
