Fans are hoping to save their favourite shows from cancellation with their campaigns.
On March 27, CBS pulled the plug on their Department of Motor Vehicles office sitcom, DMV, and their Sherlock Holmes-inspired medical drama, Watson. Despite the dismal news, followers are still holding out hope that their online petitions will save the shows. Over on ABC, followers are involved that the non-public detective drama RJ Decker may very well be coming to an end. Meanwhile, Bravo viewers are crossing their fingers for another season of The Valley: Persian Style.
Stumble, which premiered on NBC late last 12 months, has yet to be renewed for its sophomore season. This comes as fears for Wheel of Fortune as Vanna White’s future on the show is ‘unclear.’
In the meantime, viewers have flocked to several Reddit threads to come up with possible plans to save the shows. They believe sending letters to Pearlena Igbokwe, Chairman of NBC and Peacock Scripted Shows, and Amy Reisentbach, President of CBS Entertainment, will help save their troubled shows.
A commentator shared, “They can’t ignore our letters if they all land on their desks.”

Another person on a thread suggested, “If you have a family account, use every profile you can/make new if you have room, and watch it on each. Those count as unique views!”
A third added, “Spread the word on all social media outlets! Instagram, Threads, Discord, Roblox, Facebook.”
Despite the enthusiasm from supporters, there was a critic who downplayed their fan campaigns and chimed in, “Say you do all the hard work, what’s to say the network will do what you want? Their schedule had already been made.”
The series finale of Watson will air on May 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while the final episode of DMV will air on May 11.
CBS had already renewed a number of its top shows, including Marshals, George & Mandy’s First Marriage, CIA, Tracker, Matlock, Elsbeth, Fire Country, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, NCIS Sydney, Boston Blue, Sheriff Country, FBI, Ghosts, Survivor, and The Amazing Race.

This comes as Stephen Colbert announced a new project he’ll take on when The Late Show formally ends in May.
On March 24, Colbert, 61, revealed that he and his son are at present developing The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of the Past. Director Peter Jackson talked about the next movie in the franchise, after Andy Serkis’ The Hunt for Gollum hits theaters in 2027, on the late-night discuss show.
Colbert said, “You know what the books mean to me, and what your films mean to me. But the thing I found myself reading over and over again were the six chapters early on that ya’ll never developed into the first movie back in the day.”
He continued, “And I thought, ‘Oh, wait, maybe that could be its own story that could fit into the larger story. Could we make something that was completely faithful to the books while also being completely faithful to the movies that you guys had already made?’”
Colbert announced in July 2025 that his show was canceled by CBS.
