He told ESPN’s Get Up: “For myself it is a dream come true. But to give you the chance to do it for somebody like Michael, who believes like he does in my driving capability [is special]. Three or 4 years in the past when I used to be working on where am I going to go in the future, to have somebody like Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin say, ‘You’re the man we would like more than anybody else in the sphere to drive our 45 car.’

“For me, it’s a huge moment; this is the biggest moment of my career. To have those words said about you by those two people, it’s stuff you just never dream could become reality. And so to have this opportunity to deliver in the clutch moment and get the victory after coming up one spot short a year ago, it’s just been a wild couple of days really.”
