Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s tenure at Royal Lodge is drawing to a close, and the query of Sarah Ferguson’s future preparations  could now have been answered.

Removal automobiles have been noticed loading up the previous prince’s possessions as he prepares to vacate the 30-room Windsor property, relocating to a more modest dwelling at Sandringham. The controversial Royal will shortly take up residence at Marsh Farm, following the completion of refurbishments, bringing his 22-year occupancy of the Lodge to an end.

But what of his former partner Fergie?

Despite their divorce courting back to 1996, the pair have maintained a shared residence in Windsor. Andrew’s departure has meant that Fergie has also been compelled to go away.

The 66 12 months previous – who has traditionally embraced media consideration – has withdrawn completely from public view in current months following her connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Relationships with buddies and relations are reported to have deteriorated, sparking appreciable conjecture about Fergie’s future plans.

Now an insider has revealed that she is most doubtless to relocate abroad, though only on a momentary foundation.

A source revealed to Hello!: “Andrew and Sarah have to move out by January 25. She has stood by him all these years but is now ready to spread her wings. She won’t be moving in with him to the new house on the Sandringham Estate.

“She will not be shifting into Beatrice’s Cotswolds home though. Eugenie’s home in Portugal is a contender while she finds someplace.”

Princess Eugenie has maintained a residence in Portugal since 2022 owing to her husband Jack Brooksbank’s role with property development firm Discovery Land Company. The couple are understood to divide their time between their Portuguese property and Ivy Cottage in London, alongside their two young sons, August and Ernest.

Relocating abroad could prove attractive to Sarah. She would largely escape the relentless media attention surrounding the Yorks, with sources indicating Sarah remains “very upset” about recent events.

The move would also allow her to spend quality time with her young grandsons, which she evidently treasures.

Whilst Sarah may be seeking a new beginning away from her former husband, ex-BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes the pair will maintain their close bond. She also expects them to continue supporting one another, given their shared controversies.

Jennie said: “Unless Fergie is aware of one thing about her ex husband that we do not, I feel she’ll continue to be half of his life, even if she would not share his new home. They’ve shared so a lot, good and unhealthy, it is laborious to see how they’d ever be actually divorced.”

Regarding Andrew, Jennie suggests that once he relocates from Royal Lodge to the Sandringham estate, he will likely reflect upon the poor judgement and choices that resulted in his Royal banishment. “I suppose when you hit all-time low, there’s nowhere else to go but up,” she remarked.

“And, stripped of his standing and titles, evicted from his home and exiled from royal occasions, Andrew must certainly be at all-time low by now. Although, of course, a royal or even ex-royal all-time low is undoubtedly relatively different from the standard one.”

She observed: “Andrew will not be going to be sleeping tough or going hungry. He in all probability will not even be doing his own washing or cooking. He goes to be seemed after by his big brother, given a home in a lovely half of the UK and will nearly actually have workers to take care of his every need.

“All he has to do is to work out how to fill his days. A spot of horse riding? A pheasant shoot? Perhaps a quiet afternoon of video games? The choice will be his.”
