The UFC will return to Mexico City on Feb. 28 with a battle card headlined by a flyweight firefight between contenders.
Former two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno takes on No. 7 ranked Asu Almabayev in a matchup that guarantees pleasure. The battle promotion announced the UFC Mexico City headliner on Wednesday.
Moreno (23-9-2) will enter the bout at Arena CDMX coming off a TKO loss to Tatsuro Taira at UFC 323 in December. It was the first time Moreno had been stopped in his 14-year blended martial arts profession. The loss snapped a two-fight successful streak for the first Mexican champion in UFC historical past.
Almabayev (23-3) entered 2025 using an unbelievable 17-fight successful streak. He suffered a TKO loss to Manel Kape in March but rebounded with back-to-back wins.
