Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has sparked fury among Fox News viewers after making controversial claims about American job growth.

The 63-year-old official appeared on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on Friday, December 19, where he confronted powerful questions from host Laura Ingraham about artificial intelligence and its impression on employment.

The 62-year-old Fox News anchor pressed her visitor on America’s employment panorama, asking, “So, AI boom, is that definitely going to lead to more American jobs? Not the h1bs, not the foreign workers, but American workers?”

Bessent responded, “Well, in general, we have seen the growth in jobs this year have gone to native-born Americans. Not illegals, not others. So, 100% of the job growth has gone to Americans.”

His remarks immediately drew fierce criticism from viewers who challenged the accuracy of his statements about declining joblessness. “There hasn’t been any growth in jobs for months,” one pissed off viewer wrote on X, studies The Mirror US.

Others demanded accountability for the figures cited. “Where exactly is he getting his numbers?” one individual questioned, while a third demanded, “Stop this c–p and use REAL information.”

A fourth incensed viewer declared,”Not the answer to the question and also mathematically impossible.”

Skepticism ran high among the viewers. “Do they really think they’re going to be able to con their way out of this?” one viewer questioned, as another added, “He just cant say that with 100% certainty. Why make a bald face lie, when everyone knows he’s lying?”

“I’m 100% positive that he’s 100% full of s–t,” one livid critic declared, while another merely requested, “What job growth?”

While Bessent maintains that the AI revolution is creating more employment alternatives for Americans, not everybody shares his confidence. Jerome Powell, Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, has cautioned that the labor market is weakening, with AI enabling corporations to accomplish more with smaller workforces.

“Job creation is pretty close to zero,” Powell warned in October. He indicated that payroll figures overstate employment will increase when statistical modifications are eliminated.

Powell famous a “significant number” of corporations have announced workforce reductions, with many explicitly attributing this to AI. He revealed, “Much of the time they’re talking about AI and what it can do. We’re watching that very carefully.”

Meanwhile, during his look on The Ingraham Angle, Bessent surprised audiences with what appeared to be a major gaffe. During the published, he acknowledged, “I think 2026 will be a great year for growth, inflation and the American people the president works for everyday.”

Ingraham appeared not to catch the comment as she responded, “He said it today, the best is yet to come,” before transitioning to the next phase. Nevertheless, viewers quickly flocked to X to question why Bessent appeared to be celebrating a strong 12 months for inflation.
