Fox News audiences have criticized a guest on the community following what they perceived as extreme flattery toward Donald Trump during a live broadcast.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, Iran’s exiled Crown Prince, appeared on Lara Trump’s Fox News program, My View, on March 7, where his effusive reward of Trump prompted viewers to label him an “idiot bootlicker.”

During his dialog with Lara, who is married to the president’s son Eric, Prince Reza opened by declaring, “I would like to say I join millions of my copatriots, at home and abroad, who thank President Trump for this much-needed intervention, that brings us so much closer than ever to the final victory and liberation.”

Throughout the interview, Prince Reza also addressed Iran’s future and his aspirations for a post-regime authorities. He expressed to Lara his need for Iran to develop into a secular democracy with a clear separation of church and state.
