United States Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum dismissed reviews of rising oil prices, which sparked backlash against President Donald Trump.

On February 28, President Trump, 79, announced in a video posted on his Truth Social platform that the U.S. and Israel coordinated joint navy strikes against Iran. Following the first strike, the intensifying battle in Iran prompted a Persian Gulf blockade, which has despatched oil prices hovering.

Then on March 11, during the Fox News‘ broadcast of Fox and Friends, host Brian Kilmeade spoke with the Secretary of the Interior about reviews of a surge in gasoline and oil prices. The price jumped to a national average of $3.58 a gallon, while oil prices had been up around 4 p.c.

Kilmeade said, “Reading the New York Times this morning. The New York Times claims you guys were caught by surprise that the price of oil went up. Is that true?”

Burgum laughed off the report at first and replied, “Completely fake news there, obviously.”

He said, “But one thing I would say about President Trump.

“He has been targeted on bringing prices down since the day he took workplace. Affordability has been an important half of this, inheriting these prices across the board.

“This administration has been focused on driving down prices, and the way you do it, you bring supply up. And of course, under President Trump, the U.S. is now the #1 oil producer in the world.

“American residents need to know, that with U.S. power, we have never been in a more dominant, secure place in the historical past of the nation than we’re proper now with President Trump.”

Viewers took to social media and mocked Trump, slamming Burgum’s boastful comments about the administration.

One viewer blasted, “‘Fake news,’ huh? That must be why Trump went out of his means to kill inexperienced power tasks. Making sure Americans had alternate options to gasoline clearly wasn’t half of the plan. After all, he did promise to make oil corporations wealthier than ever.”

Another viewer slammed, “Trump is actually destroying Americans’ affordability and plunging the world into an power disaster.”

A 3rd wrote, “He’s either mendacity or this administration knew and just would not give a s— about how Americans cannot afford a lot of something under Trump.”

Although Burgum had his critics, he also had a supporter who supported him and said, “The New York Times is the chief in faux news.”
