Fox News halted as Trump praises Venezuela strike | TV Shows

Fox News has abruptly halted its programming to pivot to live coverage of the press convention Donald Trump hosted after ordering troops to seize Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse Cilia Flores.

The U.S. president ordered a “large-scale air strike” on Carcas, Venezuela in the early hours of the morning. At least seven explosions rang out at roughly 2am ET. Trump then announced that Maduro and his spouse had been captured on Truth Social at roughly 4:30am ET.

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” Trump wrote.

The morning after the strike, President Donald Trump held a press briefing, where he started describing the mission as “one of the most stunning, effective and powerful displays of American military might and competence in American history.”

He continued, “Overwhelming American military power, air, land and sea was used to launch a spectacular assault — and it was an assault like people have not seen since World War II.”

Trump talked about America’s “certain expertise” brought about Caracas’ lights to be turned off during the operation.

While Venezuela is under U.S. control, Trump plans to take benefit of their assets, particularly their oil which he said the nation might be “selling large amounts of.”

Later on in the briefing, he warned other international locations of being the nation’s next goal. Trump talked about Colombian President Gustavo Petro, claiming, “He’s making cocaine. They’re sending it into the United States — so he does have to watch his a–.”

The president also title dropped Cuba, including, “The people there have suffered for many years. I think Cuba is something that we’ll end up talking about, because they’re a badly failing nation.”

Trump initially appeared on Fox and Friends this morning, giving his first verbal feedback on the story.

During his telephone call with the morning show, he claimed the airstrike was “amazing” and like “watching a television show.”
