Fox News halted for breaking Trump alert and its | TV Shows

Fox News interrupted common programming with a breaking news alert as anchor Bret Baier sat down with US Vice President JD Vance, following Donald Trump’s controversial and extremely public dispute with Pope Leo.

The US president drew criticism after sharing an AI-generated image portraying himself as Jesus, which he subsequently defended as depicting him as a doctor or Red Cross employee.

A “breaking tonight” banner appeared on screen with the caption: “Vatican feud – Trump takes jabs at Pope Leo amid Iran disagreement.”

Baier straight confronted Vance about the controversy, stating: “Pope Leo has expressed problems with the war in Iran, said that we should be peacemakers – he’s been very vocal.

The president took to Truth Social, saying ‘Leo should be thankful because, as everyone knows, he was a shocking surprise. He wasn’t on any list to be Pope, and was only put there because he was American; they thought he would be the best way to deal with President Donald J Trump. If I weren’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican.”

Baier continued: “Just wondering, as a Catholic, how do you consider this Truth Social post, and then the post of the picture, which a lot of people took as the president posting a picture of himself as Jesus. He later said that he posted it as a doctor saving people.

“But it actually brought about a kerfuffle, Mr Vice President, and I’m just questioning what you make of all of this and whether or not it is… what you suppose of this back and forth with the church?” Vance replied: “Well, first of all, Bret, I believe that the president was posting a joke, and of course, he took it down because he acknowledged a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor in that case.”

“I believe the president of the United States likes to combine it up on social media, and I really suppose that’s one of the great issues about this president, is that he isn’t filtered. He would not ship all the pieces through a communications skilled, he really reaches out straight to the people.”

Vance added: “When it comes to the disagreements with the Vatican, look, we’re going to have disagreements, Bret, from time to time.

“I think it’s a good thing, actually, that the Pope is advocating for the things he cares about, but we’re always going to have disagreements on matters of public policy. Or I should say, sometimes we’re going to have disagreements on matters of public policy.

“The Pope has been important of our immigration coverage, but finally the immigration coverage of the United States is set by Donald Trump.”

Social media users expressed disbelief at his remarks, with one posting: “It’s his worst look yet, let’s be trustworthy.”

Another commented: “The gaslighting is completely insane.”

A third observer noted: “How uncomfortable is he saying this… You can see it in his eyes. WAKE UP!”.
