Donald Trump sparked concern among viewers when he wandered onto the White House roof “to take a stroll” to answer reporter’s questions. The US president appeared in an unusual spot on Tuesday – the West Wing roof – as he hinted there could be more White House renovations up his sleeve. The Commander-in-Chief brought an entourage with him and stepped outside the White House residence and onto the roof that covers the Palm Room and the press briefing room – a single-story portion of the West Wing that overlooks the newly revamped Rose Garden. There are no other historical accounts of a president walking on the White House’s roof, according to the Daily Mail. Fox News halted their broadcast during the bizarre moment. The broadcaster commented: “He’s on the roof of the White House taking questions – or he was just a few moments in the past. Lets pay attention in please.”

As the broadcast cut away to Trump on the roof he could be seen yelling down to reporters but not much could be heard clearly. “Sir, why are you on the roof?” one journalist shouted. “Mr. President, what are you doing up there?” Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy reporter yelled. In response, Trump gave his trademark fist pump and replied: “Taking a little stroll.” Trump went on to say that the planned White House ballroom would be on the other side of the residence, with plans to add 90,000 square feet to the current East Wing, where first lady Melania Trump has her offices. He then made a hand dome gesture, where he hinted he could add something on top of where he was standing.

Trump then said: “Something lovely. More methods to spend my money. We’ll show you. It’s just another manner to spend my money for the nation.

“Anything I do is financed by me so you don’t have to worry, it’s contributed,” he continued. Just like my wage is contributed but no one ever mentions that.”

Trump then continued his tour and was then asked again about his plans for the West Wing roof and then went back into the residence.

One viewer quipped: “Oh man, this is just too humorous. Trump’s roof antics are like one thing out of a comedy sketch! Who wants a stage when you have acquired the White House roof, proper? The mental image of him shouting down to reporters is just priceless. Keep the laughs coming, of us!”

Another tweeted: “Be cautious on the market Mr. President. I do not know if I such as you strolling on the roof.”

Trump’s look on the roof comes after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Thursday that the ballroom project was a go.

Construction on the East Wing will start in September, she said, with the anticipated value to be around $200 million.

Trump said he would finance all or half of the ballroom project, with the remaining given by donors.
