Fox News host blasted as she dubs affordability | TV Shows
Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo has been hit with backlash after insisting that “the economy is doing well” following President Donald Trump’s declaration of a Democrat affordability hoax.
When requested this week about the state of the US economic system, the president said he would give it an “A-plus-plus-plus-plus-plus” grade and said “prices are coming down substantially”.
However, a Fox News ballot from last month indicated most American don’t approve of Trump’s financial plans so far, with just 36 p.c backing the president. Nearly half of Americans say Trump’s financial insurance policies have personally harm them, according to Meditaite.
Speaking on Hannity on Friday (December 12), Bartiromo backed the president’s claims of an affordability ‘hoax’.
“There are certainly commodities that are still high,” she said. “People are frustrated with housing and the price of homes. People are frustrated with certain food items. But there are a number of things that President Trump has already been incredibly successful at doing.”
She went on to say, “I gotta tell you, I don’t think the people really feel as bad as the Democrats are talking about. The economy is doing well.”
Bartiromo then cited Trump’s declare of securing $18 trillion of new investments in the nation, while the White House says its web site the full is $9.6 trillion as of December 10. Experts say many of those “investments” are only guarantees that shouldn’t be counted yet.
Americans, writing on social media, have shortly snapped back at Bartiromo’s claims. One individual merely wrote, “Telling people the economy is great while people are struggling to afford life is certainly a choice.”
Another famous, “Love it when rich folks tell you that it is not bad. Put them up in a small two to three bedroom home with one bath and give them a wage less than 6 figures and see how they go.”
“$18 trillion in investments isn’t helping our grocery bills or heating our houses,” another person added. “So out of touch.”
Another said, “[Bartimoro] has been out of touch for most of the century so I’m not sure she is any type of referee on how people feel about the economy (or anything else).”
The president dismissed concernes about inflation while addressing a crowd in Pennysylvania earlier this week, telling his viewers the Democrats “always have a hoax”.
“Democrats talking about affordability is like Bonnie and Clyde preaching about public safety,” he said. “And they are really the, truly the enemy of the working class when they do it.”
Trump continued: “They use the word affordability, and that’s their only word. They say affordability, and everyone says, oh, that must mean Trump has high prices?
“No, our prices are coming down tremendously from the highest prices in the history of our country,” he said.
