Fox News host fears Nancy Guthrie was dead | TV Shows

Fox News legal analyst Donna Rottuno shared her prediction about the Nancy Guthrie case, as it’s been six months since the 84-year-old went lacking from her Arizona home in January.

On Saturday, Rottuno, who is a prison protection attorney and legal contributor for Fox News, appeared on The Big Weekend Show after authorities launched two ransom notes on Friday in hopes of figuring out Nancy’s kidnappers.

The case has gone unsolved for months since her disappearance on Jan. 31, 2026. This comes as Nancy’s daughter, Today show host Savannah Guthrie, spoke out after the ransom notes had been launched.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) publicly launched the full textual content of the 2 ransom notes that had been despatched to a number of news shops, including Arizona CBS affiliate KOLD-TV 13 News, on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6.

From Rottuno’s perspective on the police investigation and the release of the ransom notes, she said, “I’m satisfied that they’re working the case, but I’m not satisfied that they’re actually getting anywhere.”

The first ransom observe was addressed to Savannah, 54, which read in half, “Hello Savannah, We have your mother Nancy. She is safe but scared. She will be held for ransom and once payment is received she will be released unharmed.”

The second ransom observe was addressed to the Guthrie household, which read, “We did not fully grasp the seriousness of her physical condition. We never intended to hurt her, that was not our intention. She perished shortly after she was taken. We believe it was heart related. She is buried in nature now. Nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome. We want your family to know this and hope you can all find peace. We are truly Sorry.”

According to the FBI, Nancy has problem strolling, makes use of a pacemaker, and requires daily medication for a coronary heart condition.

On the Fox News show, Rottuno gave her perspective on the continuing case to resolve Nancy’s disappearance. “I think that she was dead in the very few hours — I’m not so sure she was alive when they sent that Feb. 2 letter, to be frank,” she said, offering her grim perspective.

“I mean the fact that they put out the letter on Feb. 2 then — if you even believe the letters are authentic, right? — but if you believe those clues, that if she was, if the first letter comes Feb. 2, and then they say, we’re gonna give you nine days or seven days or five days, or whatever it was, and then four days later they send a letter saying she has perished and we didn’t mean for it to happen,” she continued.

“So, the odds are, the woman with her condition, at her age, being terrified, and the fear she must have felt being pulled out of her home,” Rottuno said.

“And there was blood,” host Joey Jones added. “And so, the chances of her — even if it were accidental injured on the way out.”

“Right, exactly,” Rottuno said. Police had discovered blood on the entrance porch of Nancy’s home, and DNA analysis discovered that the blood belonged to Nancy, as reported by the BBC.

“So, I have felt from the very beginning of this that she was gone very early on,” Rottuno continued. “Whether or not these letters are legitimate, no one really knows, and no one has said one way or the other.”

“They have not said that they are not, but they have also not confirmed they have any real information showing that they are, other than the fact that the two letters we are talking about today and the ones we were talking about yesterday, those two letters seem to be coming from the same at least IP address,” she concluded.

This comes after Savannah made an emotional plea on Instagram on Saturday for the return of her mom and more info about his disappearance.

She wrote, in half, in the prolonged post, “We are begging for help. We are desperate. We need someone to come forward. Someone knows something.”
