Fox News host makes bold Donald Trump U-turn as | TV Shows

A Fox News host has made a surprising comment relating to President Trump live on air.

Political commentator and writer Dana Perino, 53, admitted Republicans may battle to keep in energy – and advised Donald Trump might not be too involved.

Her feedback come as Trump faces falling approval scores. A new ballot from the University of Massachusetts Amherst discovered just 33% of Americans approve of the job he’s doing, while 62% disapprove. That marks a drop from July 2025, when 38% backed him and 56% had been against.

The survey, carried out between March 20 and 25 among 1,000 people, comes amid growing backlash over the battle with Iran.

The battle, launched on February 28 alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has proved unpopular, with many Americans saying it may make the nation less secure.

Speaking on Monday’s show, Perino solid doubt over whether or not Republicans can maintain onto Congress, where they at present have a slender majority.

“I don’t know what political price he could possibly pay,” she continued. “He’s not running for president again. If it’s the midterms, I don’t know if he cares that much.

“He is gonna do what he can, but he understands history and knows that it’s probably likely that the Republicans won’t be able to hold it even if they try. So, the political price to me, is not weighing in on some of these very tough decisions.”

Her feedback echo earlier remarks from co-host Jesse Watters, who beforehand warned Republicans, “You’re gonna lose the House.”

Despite the criticism, the White House pushed back on the latest polling. Spokesperson Davis Ingle said the most important vote had already taken place.

“The ultimate poll was November 5th, 2024, when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and commonsense agenda.”

He added, “No other President in history has accomplished more for the American people than President Trump, who is working tirelessly to create jobs, cool inflation, increase housing affordability, and more. The president has already made historic progress not only in America but around the world, and this is just the beginning as his agenda continues taking effect.”
