Fox News host raves about Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech
Fox News hosts have shared their doubts about the Republican Party, and it is bad news for President Donald Trump.
On Monday, March 16, the co-hosts of Fox News‘ The Five had been in settlement on the future of the Republican Party heading into the November Midterms. They suppose that the celebration’s hopes for a victory are “in danger.”
Guest co-host Kayleigh McEnany mentioned the upcoming election with Greg Gutfeld, who requested if Republicans have to settle for a new reality about the election’s consequence. “Kayleigh, I don’t want to be surprised or blindsided in November,” Gutfeld said. “Should we be honest now and say, are we in danger?” This got here before the president fired back at Joe Kent’s latest resignation over the conflict in Iran.
Responding to Gutfeld’s query, McEnany agreed with his considerations. “Yeah, we are,” she said. “If you look at historical trends, absolutely. The party that’s governing wins choices.”
She added, “It tends to be a referendum on that party, and they lose seats. So, absolutely, it’s an uphill battle, and we have to be frank about that.”

However, McEnany sees a resolution for Republicans in litigating “the issues” fairly than “the distractions,” a stance that went against Democratic visitor co-host, Harold Ford Jr.
“Here’s where I disagree with Harold: Elections are not referendums, they are choices,” she said. “And when you look at the polling, when given a choice — Republican, Democrat — this is an NBC poll, Republicans are beating democrats plus 27 on border security, plus 22 on crime, plus eight on immigration and it’s even on the economy.”
She added, “So if Republicans can litigate on the issues and not the distractions, they end up winning.”
McEnany then talked about a dialog she had with former Democratic Senator Joe Manchin on Saturday.
“To Joe Manchin’s point, as he told me on Saturday, he said if Democrats want to ever control again or be the majority or have a president who is a Democrat, they have to get with the commonality of what’s going on,” she said.
“You’ve got to listen to guys like John Fetterman, not guys like Chuck Schumer. But John Fetterman is dismissed out of hand by party leaders, by James Carville, among others.”

McEnany then slammed Democrats’ use of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) as a political strategy.
“Jim Messina has a point: What’s the governing strategy of Democrats?” she requested. “Because you could win this election, you could win the midterms, because it’s a historical trend and TDS is your strategy, but TDS cannot be the strategy in 2028.”
She added, “That’s not going to take you to The Promised Land.” McEnany ended her monologue by calling on Democrats to “figure out” their views on crucial points.
“Finally, I would just say, Democrats have to figure out, where are they on Medicare for all?” she said. “The left wing of the party wants that, the mainstream does not. Where are they on Israel? Where are they on government-run grocery stores? They’ve got a lot of divisions to work through —”
Ford Jr. interrupted, “I’m against that. I’m for Israel. We can answer those questions.” McEnany alluded back to her earlier feedback. “You’re the Fetterman wing,” she said. “That’s the smarter wing.”
A day after the Fox News co-hosts’ feedback, Joe Kent, the top of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation citing misgivings about Trump’s conflict with Iran.

Kent had been appointed by Trump, but his resignation marks the first high-profile exit of the president’s second time period.
“After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today,” Kent wrote in a post on X.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” Kent added in the resignation letter he connected to the post.
“This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States, and that should you strike now, there was a clear path to victory,” he wrote in his resignation letter.
He continued, “This was a lie and is the same tactic the Israelis used to draw us into the disastrous Iraq war that cost our nation the lives of thousands of our best men and women. We cannot make this mistake again.”

However, on Wednesday, GWN’s Chief Data Analyst, Harry Enten, confirmed some attention-grabbing data about Trump’s MAGA motion amid ongoing tensions over the Iran conflict and infighting within the Republican Party.
Enten confirmed data from an NBC News ballot of MAGA GOP’s view of Trump, explaining, “Approve 100 percent. 100 percent. If you are a member of MAGA, and the GOP, you approve of Donald John Trump. Zero percent say that they disapprove.”
Showing a ballot of Americans who determine as MAGA, Enten said, “In November of 2024, it was 28 percent of Americans. Now, it’s basically the same. If anything, it’s slightly higher at 30 percent. The bottom line is this: The MAGE base within the GOP is not shrinking.”
