Secretary of War Pete Hegseth gave an update on the battle against Iran, which left conservatives unimpressed.
On May 5, Fox News interrupted its common programming and livestreamed Hegseth‘s press briefing at the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia. Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Caine joined him to update the press on the battle against Iran. Hegseth harassed that the Iranian regime shouldn’t be in control of the Strait of Hormuz, the first export route for oil.
The protection secretary acknowledged that two ships have handed the Strait. This comes as Hegseth dropped a weird remark about killer dolphins getting used to battle for the U.S. against the nation in the Middle East.
Hegseth harassed, “Two U.S. commercial ships, along with American destroyers, have already safely transited the Strait,” before including, “Showing the lane is clear.”
“We know the Iranians are embarrassed by this fact,” he continued with his update. “They said they control the Strait. They do not.”
Viewers took to social media to slam Hegseth’s feedback, arguing that fuel and oil costs would have decreased if the U.S. managed the Strait of Hormuz.

One individual said, “Sucks we can’t trust anything this administration says. They’ve shown they will say anything. It’s like a scripted reality show to them, with the writer changing daily. There’s no consistency or regard for the truth.”
Another individual added, “This explains $6 gas. Thanks, I was confused before you told everyone we control the Strait. Now I can relax and enjoy $6 gas.”
A 3rd wrote, “The Strait is not safe for commercial shipping to go through, as was the case pre-war. Stop portraying control. We are in a stalemate situation, and the world is economically suffering.”
Despite the criticism, Hegseth did have a supporter who agreed with him and shared, “We are winning. Iran is really embarrassed this time.”

Also during the convention, Hegseth jokingly refused to deny whether or not the U.S. was utilizing killer dolphins to help its efforts in the Iran battle. Several experiences allege Iran is looking for to use dolphins armed with mines to launch kamikaze-style assaults on U.S. vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
A reporter requested the protection secretary about the likelihood of kamikaze dolphins, but he refused to “confirm or deny” their existence.
“I can’t confirm, nor deny whether we have kamikaze dolphins,” Hegseth said, as Caine laughed beside him. “But I can confirm they don’t.”
After the weird second of humor, Hegseth reassured that the ceasefire with Iran shouldn’t be over, while emphasizing that the U.S. plan to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz can be short-term and peaceable.
