Fox News viewers turn on Trump ally amid Iranian | TV Shows
Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent slammed the Iranian naval forces, which viewers felt was a dangerous look for President Donald Trump.
During the Fox News broadcast of America’s Newsroom on May 4, Bessent, 63, spoke with hosts Bill Hemmer, 71, and Dana Perino, 53, about the struggle against Iran. He talked about the navy operation identified as Project Freedom, which President Donald Trump announced on the same day. Project Freedom is designed to help stranded seafarers in the Strait of Hormuz, the first export route for oil.
Bessent then remarked how the Iranian navy appeared weak. This comes as a U.S. Navy patrol boat has been struck by missiles after ignoring warnings from a nation in the Middle East.
Bessent said, “Let’s level set. I think the Iranians are starting to believe their own propaganda. And just to be clear, the leader is hunkered down in bunkers all over the world. I don’t think they know what’s going on. But what is going on, they’re reduced. Their nanvy is not a navy anynmore.
“It’s a band of pirates. They try to cut off the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. And the U.S. is opening that up. This is a humanitarian effort.”
Viewers took to social media to slam Bessent’s comments.
One person said, “Sounds like Scott is projecting again. Could you are taking a look at Trump? He clearly has no plan. Your opinion shouldn’t be related.
Another individual added, “Scott Bessent talking about propaganda? Give me a break. Iranians in bunkers, and this guy thinks HE knows what’s going on?”
Despite the criticism, Beensent did have somebody who agreed with him and shared, “Trump has a plan. You’ll see, he’s going to end the war and get us out of it.”
The Iranian navy declared, “With a decisive and rapid warning from the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the entry of ‘American-Zionist’ enemy destroyers into the Strait of Hormuz region was prevented. Additional news will be announced soon.”
After the U.S. Central Command denied that an assault had ever occurred in the first place, a assertion read, “No U..S Navy ships have been struck. U.S. forces are supporting Project Freedom and enforcing the naval blockade on Iranian ports.”
Trump described half of the humanitarian phrases of Project Freedom, which is designed to help stranded seafarers, from oil tankers or cargo ships, who have been caught in the Persian Gulf since the struggle started.
