Michael Strahan has led a sentimental tribute to his FOX NFL Sunday colleague, Jimmy Johnson, after he introduced his retirement. The 81-year-old, who steered the Dallas Cowboys to 2 Super Bowl wins as head coach, is ending an illustrious 30-year tenure with FOX Sports that started in 1994. Before his time on the FOX workforce, Johnson started his work with American soccer as a school head coach between the years of 1979 and 1988.

His profitable nine-year NFL profession noticed him develop into the primary head coach to win each a school national championship and a Super Bowl, with the University of Miami after which with the Cowboys. As Johnson steps away from the community after decreasing his position on FOX NFL Sunday over time, Strahan has taken to social media to share his emotions on the information.

Johnson and Strahan were longtime stars on FOX, completing a legendary lineup that boasted names like Terry Bradshaw, Curt Menefee, Rob Gronkowski and Howie Long. Johnson announced his departure during an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, as he reflected on a remarkable career with the broadcaster and his TV friends.

“I watched Terry play in school when he was at Woodlawn High School and we recruited him for Louisiana Tech,” Johnson told Cowherd. “I coached Howie Long within the Blue-Gray sport when he simply left Villanova.

“I had Michael Strahan, you know, there in Dallas and I was going to draft him. And he reminds me of it many, many times. And when it was a mistake, I was trying to get him cheap and New York jumped in front of me. So I wasn’t able to draft him. I actually had a scout in his home on draft day. And so we’re all very, very close.

“And Curt Menefee was, he was in Dallas once I was in Dallas. And so it was simply natural for me to be considerably of a coach. And Bill Richards, who, , I like to death, , he kiddingly calls me my, calls me assistant producer. Because I might have strategies on what to do on possibly our on-the-field phase and so forth.

“So I just kind of played the same role that I played for many, many years as a head football coach.”
