Fox News viewers are accusing Jesse Watters of having ‘mommy points’ after a latest section about mother and father’ involvement in their youngsters’s careers.

During the August 5 episode of Fox News’ The Five, Jesse was half of a panel dialogue titled ‘Helicopter Headhunters’ about ‘mother and father exhibiting up to their child’s job interviews.’ During the section, the 48-year-old tv persona joked about how his mom acquired him the job at the community. Viewers rapidly pointed to the time his mother called in to his show to offer some motherly advice for his new gig.

When requested what the “appropriate level of parental intervention on the career track” was, Jesse fired back, “A large donation.”

He joked, “I mean, that’s how I got the job at Fox. My mom drove me to the city, she barged right into the interview room, and she said, ‘Please hire my son, he’s not skilled, and he needs health insurance.’ And they took pity on me, and look where I ended up”

Viewers had been fast to recall the time Jesse’s mother, Dr. Anne Purvis, a registered Democrat, called in live during his first-ever Jesse Watters Primetime slot in 2023, after he changed Tucker Carlson.

Referring to him as “honey bun,” she supplied the controversial pundit some “suggestions,” including: “Do not tumble into any conspiracy rabbit holes. We do not want to lose you. And we want no lawsuits.”

She also invoked the Hippocratic oath and warned him to “do no harm” and “seek solutions versus fanning the flames,” during his reporting.

One Fox News viewer in contrast the segments side-by-side, writing on X, “Jesse Watters joked that his mother marched into Fox News HQ and begged them to hire her son.

It might explain why she called into his first episode of Jesse Watters Primetime. He was in his mid-40’s at the time. The man who is obsessed with masculinity has mommy issues.”

Others piled in with feedback like, “Mommy got him his first big boy job!”

Another viewer famous that Jesse appeared not to have taken his mother’s advice, often dealing with viewer backlash for his reporting, often being accused of misogyny, transphobia, and racism.

They wrote, “Well look at this boy lying to all daily just to maliciously lie and create new and fake scenarios. His mom is correct !! He should be fined and removed from his position. Not all speech from the news is protected speech”

Jesse is also recognized for his fiery on-air clashes with other panelists, notably Jessica Tarlov, a Democratic political strategist who often seems on The Five.
