Furious Trump brands Michigan voting rigged | Political News


President Donald Trump has weighed in on the Michigan main, branding it as occurring in “one of the most corrupt voting areas in the United States.”

In a Truth Social post Wednesday morning, shortly after Abdul El-Sayed was declared the winner, the president fumed: “Wayne County (Detroit) in Michigan is one of the most corrupt voting areas in the United States, if not the World.” He continued: ” It is strictly Third World! remarkable results happen in Wayne County, including more votes being cast than there are voters, by a lot.

“Therefore, the Communist, who isn’t appreciated in Detroit, is probably in ‘Vote Counter’ hassle,” he stated. “The Radical Left Socialist has a real shot, and do not low cost all of those faux mail-in ballots that will ‘surprisingly’ show up at the last second.” It comes as Trump faces immense scrutiny over alarming dishonest allegations.

Trump went on, “Now, the Dumocrats loopy insurance policies will only worsen!” Trump’s twin posts follow El-Sayed’s success in defeating U.S. Rep Hayley Stevens in what the Associated Press describes as a significant triumph for the party’s progressive faction in a crucial swing state.

El-Sayed will now advance to challenge Republican Mike Rogers, a former congressman who secured the GOP nomination without opposition. The AP reports that November’s election is critical to Democrats’ hopes of capturing control of the Senate, and El-Sayed must now work to bring together a fractured Democratic coalition following a contentious primary battle.

The outcome wasn’t determined until Wednesday morning when Stevens acknowledged defeat. In a formal statement, Stevens announced her backing of El-Sayed’s campaign.

“I’m proud to offer my assist as he takes on Mike Rogers in the final election,” she said. “This was a thorough and rigorous marketing campaign that introduced out the full span of views within the Democratic Party – and that is why now we have primaries.”

The victory represents a dramatic turnaround for the Democratic Party following his 2018 defeat to current Gov. Gretchen Whitmer by 21 points. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, another progressive figure who backed El-Sayed, characterized the contest as one that “ought to be a wake-up call to the Washington Democratic institution.”
