Former PGA Tour star Jim Furyk is set to attempt his hand in the world of broadcasting, becoming a member of the Golf Channel crew.

The 17-time PGA Tour winner will also be half of the group at The Players the next week, when he’ll share the knowledge he gained from 5 top-five finishes at TPC Sawgrass. The tour’s top stars will likely be concerned in both occasions after many declined to play this weeks Cognizant Classic, with Justin Thomas airing his disappointment.

Furyk has had fleeting experiences in the sales space throughout his career, but when he’s on air at Bay Hill, it will likely be the first time the 55-year-old has led the colour commentary in the sales space.

The former world No. 2 competed frequently on the PGA Tour in 2020 before going on to have an spectacular career on the PGA Tour Champions, including a victory at the U.S. Senior Open.

Furyk will likely be joined in the sales space by play-by-play announcer Terry Gannon at Bay Hill, and they are going to be on the call for 4 hours for the opening two rounds before helming Golf Channel’s two-hour lead-in program to NBC’s coverage of the weekend’s motion.
