GB News Michael Portillo issues brutal five-word reply | UK News
Politician turned GB News presenter Michael Portillo gave his ideas on the acrimonous go to of Ukranian President Zelenskyy to the White House, which noticed him talked over and silenced by US President Donald Trump and his Vice President JD Vance.
Portillo was standing in for Stephen Dixon on GB News Breakfast when he made the remarks. “An irony that occurred to me that JD Vance came to Europe and lectured us on the death of free speech.
“I moderately agreed with him,” he said. “But to see Zelensky being silenced, being shouted at each time he tried to talk, I didn’t see a lot help of free speech in that exact encounter,” he said.
Co-host Anne Diamond agreed with him. “The awkwardness as properly,” she said. “I believed a number of instances, is that English is not Zelenskyy’s first language.
“I thought he did extraordinary well, but maybe he didn’t quite understand some of the nuance,” she stated.
She was referring to the actual fact Zelenskyy appeared confused by the US contingents references to “holdig the cards”.
“I’m not sure he took the way Americans talk about holding the cards is the same way.
“I simply puzzled is it honest to bully anyone whose first language will not be English, within the White House,” she pondered
Michael agreed with her saying: “Absolutely, it was one of the the reason why it was bullying.”
