Giants announcer rips Dane Myers wild…

Dane Myers’ has a scorching bat, and seemingly a bit of a scorching head.

The Marlins middle fielder violently broke his bat over his leg after hanging out in the fifth inning of Thursday’s 12-5 win over the Giants.

Myers’ response elicited some ‘Oohs’ and ‘Aahs’ from the Oracle Park crowd while his helmet-spiking outburst earned him a one-word reprimand from NBC Sports Bay Area’s Mike Krukow.

“Bush,” the announcer proclaimed.

When the printed returned for the underside half of the inning, Krukow and play-by-play man Dave Flemming continued in on Myers’ bat-breaking show.

“This doesn’t feel good when you do this, but I’ll tell you what, that’s impressive,” Krukow added about breaking the bat over his knee. “He’s a young player. If he knew how much the opposing pitcher got out of that and how enjoyable it is, he would never do it again.”

“He should know,” Flemming added. “He was a former pitcher.”

Myers is no stranger to tantrums, as final 12 months he fractured his ankle while in the midst of a meltdown in which he kicked the clubhouse door after an ejection.

“It’s tough (to control myself), but it’s something you gotta do as a pro,” he stated at the time.

He might need some more work to do on the difficulty.

Still, Myers has loved a breakout season in Miami, making a number of highlight-reel catches and hitting a career-high .300 in 160 at-bats with 4 home runs and eight stolen bases for the 34-45 Marlins.
