Good Morning Britain viewers had been left switching off the ITV breakfast programme in a fury today (May 7) as they all made the same criticism about the local election coverage – or lack thereof. Incensed viewers had been left up in arms by the “dull” programme, with some branding it a “slow news day” as the topics lined included Dermot O’Leary’s new journey show, Strictly Come Dancing internet hosting rumours and whether or not a politician ought to shave off his beard.

With an prolonged runtime past 9am, many viewers complained there was not enough to justify the prolonged coverage before Lorraine Kelly took over with her daytime show at 9:30.
